CONTEMPORARY SCULPTURES
ALICIA AMADOR
"My work is a process of re-symbolizing the human form, capturing the female body in a state of constant metamorphosis.
By abstracting classical themes and transitioning from academic lines to fluid, expressive brushstrokes, I seek to rescue the sacred aura of the body, liberating it from conventional fetishes. Utilizing large-scale ovoid structures as canvases, my paintings become three-dimensional statements.
They explore ancient feminine symbols—the egg, the moon, the shell—and function as visual palindromes: balancing between the visible and the hidden, the sacred and the visceral, traditional legacy and contemporary resistance."
